NOF Tip for 3 May – Calcium
May 3, 2020 Leave your thoughtsCalcium is crucial for bone health. I have many blogs dealing with calcium. Click the Calcium category to your left to see them all.
NOF has a video about calcium at https://vimeo.com/265278701. Remember that calcium intake is food and supplements combined and should be in multiple doses of 500mg or less.
The calcium intake recommended in the video is for maintenance of good bone health. Those with fractures and/or osteoporosis by DXA/VFA/TBS often need to play catch-up and require higher doses.
After a Complete Bone Health Evaluation, we can tailor your personal calcium intake to meet your personal needs.
And of course you need enough Vitamin D to be able to absorb calcium properly.
