You want to take control of your own bone health destiny to avoid osteoporosis.  You want to do it “naturally” without modern pharmaceuticals.  This is often possible.  It does take dedication and persistence on your part.  We can give you the knowledge you need.

Calcium is needed in proper amounts several times every day.  You need to split your calcium intake into at least 3 separate doses in order to absorb all that you need.   You need 1200 to 1500 mg of calcium daily.  You can absorb only about 500-600 mg in a single 4-6 hour period.

Different successful cultures have used different natural sources of calcium.  Dairy products are the most common source of calcium for those living away from the sea.  5 to 6 servings of milk, yogurt, or cheese scattered throughout the day will work.

Ocean fish are relatively high in calcium.  Ocean perch and halibut are good.  Sardines with the bones in have more calcium than milk.

People not able to eat either dairy products nor ocean fish have cultivated vegetables high in calcium.  Collards, spinach, kale, okra and black-eyed peas are all good sources of calcium.

For a full list of Calcium in your diet, go to the USDA website.  If you are unable or unwilling to get all your calcium from your diet, then you need to take Calcium Supplements.
